Carl Rohling is a Vice President of Business Development for TuneIn, Inc., a privately held online services company based in Palo Alto, California.   He manages strategic alliances, licensing and distribution for both the consumer electronics, automotive and mobile business units.  His focus for consumer facing services is centered on the distribution and licensing of the TuneIn application across multiple platforms.  TuneIn’s OEM business is based on servicing prominent third parties across automotive, TV, mobile, and digital appliance platforms.  Rohling has over (12) years experience in digital media covering both hardware and software in roles ranging from legal, sales and business development.

Previously, Rohling spent (2) years at Creative Labs overseeing their business development activities for the portable audio, speaker and web camera business units.  Tying together services and hardware was his achievement in delivering and end-to-end solution for an optimal consumer experience.  Prior to Creative Labs, Rohling spent (3) years as Director of Business Development overseeing the ReplayTV, GoVideo and Rio product lines for SonicBlue, Inc.  Rohling was involved in SonicBlue’s expansion into into consumer electronics with the acquisition of the ReplayTV and GoVideo product lines.

Rohling was a corporate attorney for Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson in New York City and a litigation attorney for Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison working out of their New York, Hong Kong and Tokyo offices.

Rohling attended the University at Albany for undergraduate studies and the University at Buffalo for both his MBA and J.D.

Blicher holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering and Economics from Carnegie-Mellon University. Tim Johnson was recently named to a newly created position within the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) - director, Crash Avoidance and Electronic Controls Research. In this new role, he has responsibility for the agency’s research programs in several key areas including human factors, intelligent technologies, heavy vehicles, and electronic systems safety. The new office was created to bring these related parts of the vehicle research program together under one roof. This is especially important as NHTSA moves to address the challenges and potentially enormous benefits of crash avoidance technologies, vehicle-to-vehicle communications, automated vehicles, and the safety-critical electronic control systems that are increasingly prevalent.

Mr. Johnson’s federal career, which started in 1993, includes a wide variety of research experience at NHTSA as well as other federal agencies and commissions including the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the Federal Transit Administration and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.

Mr. Johnson attended the University of Minnesota, where he graduated with an electrical engineering degree.

Today, Simmons serves as VP of Marketing & Content for Aha by Harman the next-generation cloud-based infotainment platform that safely delivers web content to drivers right through the radio. Leading content companies such as MOG, Rhapsody, CBS Radio, Slacker, NPR and ESPN and dozens more across music, audio books, entertainment, travel, location based services, group deals and search categories work with Simmons to reach drivers safely and cost-effectively. She leads global marketing, business development and content programming for the division’s mobile, automotive and home products.

Prior to joining Aha in 2010, Simmons was VP of Marketing and General Manager of Playphone North America. At AOL/TimeWarner she forged and managed social media partnerships with MySpace and Facebook. As VP of Strategic Alliances at Audible (acquired by Amazon), Simmons launched the company’s wireless business and was responsible for driving adoption of the #2 audio format (behind MP3) via major partnerships with Sony Ericsson, Nokia, Motorola, Palm, SanDisk, Creative, Garmin, Best Buy, Amazon and others.

Simmons is a sought-after speaker and she can be found sharing insights on content monetization and marketing via her podcast “On Digital Media”. She graduated Magna cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from U.C. San Diego and received her MBA from Cornell University, where she was a Park Leadership Fellow.
