As Global Technologist and Head of the Ford Developer Program with Ford Motor Company, John is tasked with expanding Ford’s “brought-in” strategy of integrating mobile technology into the vehicle. He oversees a team of developers and engineers responsible for creating the “connected car” and striking the right balance between embedded and off-board technology so that drivers can seamlessly extend their mobile lives into their vehicles.

During most of his career, John worked for Motorola where he held key leadership positions in engineering; product management; software & services; marketing and strategy. While there, John participated in developing, marketing and selling Motorola’s mobile software and services, their software developer ecosystem, and industry-leading Open Source Software program.

For the past 15 years, John has been the managing director of Ellis & Associates, the management consulting firm he founded in 1997. The firm has expanded its reach over the years, and currently offers expertise in international business and culture, open source, and product management.

John served as an adjunct professor at Notre Dame University teaching financial math to Executive MBA students from 2002-2010 as well as a translator in the 1992 Summer Olympics.

Anupam “Pom” Malhotra is manager for the connected vehicle for Audi of America, responsible for all the operations of the Audi Connect infotainment system and the formulation and execution of the company’s connected-vehicle strategy with Audi AG.

Malhotra joined Audi in mid-2010 on a contract basis as a subject-matter expert, but soon it became apparent that connectivity would become a crucial part of the technology proposition for the brand. He joined Audi initially from his role as head of enterprise quality for location-based services for General Motors’ pioneering OnStar brand.

GM had begun scaling up OnStar, and in 2000, Malhotra landed at the upstart “telematics” and infotainment brand, eventually moving into global business development and program management in a 10-year stint with the company. Malhotra left OnStar to launch Audi connect in the U.S. market and put in place the foundation for a long-term connected services strategy for the company.

Thilo Koslowski is Vice President, Distinguished Analyst and founder of the Automotive practice at Gartner Inc., the largest business and technology strategy advisory company in the world.  Mr. Koslowski is recognized as a global thought leader, futurist and strategic advisor regarding the evolution of the automotive industry, the connected vehicle, mobility innovation and new business models.  In his role Mr. Koslowski works with senior business and technology leaders in the automotive, consumer electronics, Internet, communication and technology industries on disruptive and successful cross-industry business opportunities.  He is also an advisor for venture capitalists and public agencies focusing on a variety of topics including new mobility and transportation concepts, e-Mobility and mobility-as-a-service. Mr. Koslowski’s work spans across the entire automotive value-chain including vehicle-centric information and communication technologies (Vehicle ICT), marketing & sales, distribution of automobiles, customer centricity and the automotive supply-chain.

Before founding Gartner’s Automotive practice in Silicon Valley in 1999, Mr. Koslowski was Lead Consultant in Gartner’s Consulting Practice where he managed global consulting assignments for companies in the automotive and emerging technologies markets. Prior to that, he worked in various marketing and strategy positions for a premium German automaker.  Mr. Koslowski graduated from the Technical University (RWTH) Aachen in Germany and holds a master's degree in Business Studies with majors in Marketing, European Economy and Production Engineering

Dominique’s background includes a wealth of telecommunication and mobile device applications experience. He worked for Orange and BT in Belgium, as well as holding a variety of positions at consumer/industrial technology companies assuming roles in product management and market research and intelligence. He later started his own company in software consulting for mobile devices, where he acquired extensive experience in mobile satellite navigation software.

He holds an MS in electronics engineering at the University of Leuven, and has earned several marketing and business degrees.

As vice president of sales and marketing, Derek Kuhn is responsible for developing strategies that increase market share and drive revenue growth in QNX Software Systems' core and emerging markets.

Prior to joining QNX, Mr. Kuhn held senior positions at Alcatel-Lucent, including vice president of emerging technology and media, and vice president of strategy for the Americas region in the office of the CTO/CMO. As a global business lead, he was responsible for the company's ecosystem of emerging technologies, including 4G mobile connectivity.

He also conceived and led the ng Connect Program, a multi-industry initiative dedicated to the development and rapid deployment of the next generation of broadband services based on Long Term Evolution (LTE) and other ultra high bandwidth technologies. As such, he drove the development of the original LTE Connected Car, which was launched by the program in 2009 — the most advanced connected car at the time.

Mr. Kuhn sits on the Board of Directors of the Automotive Parts Manufacturers’ Association (APMA).

From 2003 to 2006, Mr. Kuhn served as chairman of the Broadband Content Delivery Forum, where he helped grow the organization to twice its original size. From 2008 to 2010, he sat as a board member of the University of Southern California's Entertainment Technology Center in the School of Cinematic Arts.

In 2010, Mr. Kuhn won Alcatel-Lucent's CEO award; in 2005, he won a Forty under 40 award from the Ottawa Business Journal. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering.

David Kleidermacher is Chief Technology Officer at Green Hills Software where he is responsible for technology strategy, platform planning, and solutions design. Kleidermacher is a leading authority in systems software and security, including secure operating systems, virtualization technology, and the application of high robustness security engineering principles to solve computing infrastructure problems.

Prior to his current assignment, Kleidermacher was vice president of engineering; in this capacity, he had responsibility for Green Hills Software’s product development, deployment, and technical support. Previously, Kleidermacher was a senior manager and software developer, contributing major innovations and product successes in the areas of software development environments, operating systems, and security solutions. In the 1990s, Kleidermacher was one of the original developers of the INTEGRITY secure operating system, the first software product ever to achieve a Common Criteria EAL6+ High Robustness security certification.

Kleidermacher earned his bachelor of science in computer science from Cornell University and is an active writer and speaker on technology subjects. He has been with Green Hills Software since 1991.

Prior to retirement in 2006, Dave McNamara as a manager at Ford Motor Company Research developed new infotainment systems. His team’s work was a forerunner of SYNC announced at the 2007 Consumer Electronic Show (CES).

Today, Dave’s consulting business McNamara Technology Solutions LLC has clients in the area of active safety, telematics and wireless. He is active in SAE, IEEE, and is an invited speaker to the Telematics Update Events and CES.  He has written several articles on Telematics, Diagnostics, Connected Vehicle Technology, user interfaces and the implications of new CES technology to automotive.

Currently, he is working with Cohda Wireless as their US contact. He is also working with Scientific Application International Corporation and Jackson Dawson Communications known for their innovative immersive “ride and drive” events.

As President and CEO of UIEvolution, Chris is responsible for leading the company's growth, setting global strategy and driving sales and marketing execution. He has grown UIEvolution into a global leader of software solutions to over 100 business customers and major brands such as Disney, Princess Cruises, Toyota, ESPN and ATT. In December 2007, Chris led the successful repurchase of UIEvolution from Square Enix establishing UIE as an independent company with offices in the US and Japan.

Before becoming President and CEO, Chris worked with UIEvolution as VP of Marketing and VP of Finance, Senior Director of Product Management, and Director of Business Development. Prior to joining UIEvolution, Chris was co-founder and CEO of Aptelix Inc, where he was responsible for communicating the company's vision, defining product strategy and raising initial seed funding.

Chris graduated with Honors and holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Washington, graduating in the top 5% of the class.  He also holds Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance from the University of Montana.

Schwinke is currently director of developer ecosystem and application development for GM’s Global Connected Consumer business unit. In his current role, Schwinke is responsible for creating an environment within GM vehicles that allows developers to work with GM in a secure and controlled manner to design, test and deliver the most relevant, customizable and seamlessly integrated automotive apps.

He leads the team that is in charge of delivering the recently introduced SDK and vehicle framework will allow developers to create a new category of vehicle apps designed to interact with GM vehicles.

He is also in charge of defining a full certification process and business model for applications and for GM’s internal application delivery, such as OnStar’s Remote Link mobile app.

Previously, Schwinke was with OnStar for more than 15 years, where he lead the team of engineers and developers that invented, designed and piloted many of the industry’s first telematics services.

Steve began his career with OnStar in February 1997 where he was responsible for the development of the wireless technology for the first factory installed OnStar system. In 2000 he was promoted to Director of Systems Operations, responsible for device lifecycle management, end-to-end system performance and management of the wireless carrier relationships. In 2007 Steve was appointed Director of Service Line Management overseeing all the OnStar service offerings and roadmap for future services.  

Prior to joining OnStar, Steve worked at Ford Motor Company and GTE Government Systems in Mountain View California.  During this time he designed a variety of wireless communication subsystems and components.  Schwinke received his Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in RF and Microwave Communication Systems from Santa Clara University and a BSEE from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor.  He has been granted 11 patents in the area of Telematics.
