FAQs

  • Why should I nominate my company?

If you want your company/product to be recognized and be known as a trailblazer in the ever-competitive and evolving telematics industry you need to nominate your company as that is the very first step you can take to get closer towards the enviable list of winners and achievers.

  • How do I nominate my company?

Nominating you company is easy. Simply follow the guidelines listed below and you will be able to nominate your company in just a few minutes!

 - Please familiarize yourself with the rules of entry by clicking here.

 - Once you know the rules of entry you should click here to select the category that best suits your offerings.

 - You can browse through the categories by clicking on them.

 - Once you've made your selection please answer the questions we are asking for that category.

 - Ensure that your entry is informative yet succinct. You need to stick to the word-count or else your entry will get automatically disqualified

 - You can nominate your company for multiple categories

  • What do I do once I've submitted my nomination?

Once you've submitted your entry you will receive an email notification to let you know that your submission has gone through and has been received by us. After that you will need to wait till 4th May 2009 as that is when we announce the finalists or the shortlisted companies.

  • I'm shortlisted - what do I need to next?

If you are shortlisted for an award you will have the opportunity to display a 30 second video clip about your nomination.

The only exception to this is for the leadership category for which a video clip is not appropriate - in this instance we require a high quality picture of the individual which we will display and we will read out some text about that person from the nomination.

If you are one of the lucky few that have been nominated for more than one award please provide a different video clip for each one if possible - if not you risk heckling from the audience as they watch a repeated clip!

  • What will happen on the night exactly?

The Telematics Awards Ceremony & Gala Dinner will take place on June 2, 2009 at Hotel Baronette in Novi, Michigan, at the end of day 1 of the conference & exhibition. After a short drinks reception everyone will take their seats for an exquisite meal and some light entertainment. Once the main course is served the judges will say a few words and then call out the first category.

The nominees’ video clips will then roll as the tension mounts and everyone awaits anxiously the final result. An envelope will be torn open, a name called and a short acceptance speech will ensue.

This is then repeated for the next category until all the trophies are handed out and the winners are all basking in their victory.

So in short - very similar in format to major awards ceremonies with which you will be familiar.
