Philip M. Abram, chief infotainment officer for General Motors, is responsible for setting and implementing a global infotainment strategy for Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick, GMC, OnStar, Opel, Vauxhaul and Holden.

Abram joined GM in January 2012, after serving as president and chief operating officer for Sonos, Inc., a wireless music system for homes. At Sonos, Abram headed up product management, worldwide sales and marketing, inventory, logistics and sales operations.

From 1996 to 2007, Abram held a number of positions in business development, product management and engineering. From 2005 to 2007, he was vice president and senior general manager, marketing for Sony Electronics, responsible for Sony’s television business in the US. Prior to that, he held a number of positions at Sharp Electronics and Eastman Kodak.

Phil holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Gannon University and an MBA in finance from the University of Rochester. Abram has eight patents to his credit, everything from digital imaging to internet services.

Before assuming these leadership roles, Tom held a number of  positions of increasing importance, ranging  from sales to general management, in the battery and electronic component divisions of these Panasonic industrial groups. The consistent thread throughout his management career has been a B2B focus and and an ability to meet the demanding requirements of the world’s leading high-technology giants.

Prior to coming to Panasonic, Tom served in a technical sales role for Duracell Battery and in a similar capacity for an electronic component distributor.

Tom earned his bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Northern Illinois University and has done extensive postgraduate work at Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management, including a yearlong executive program.

As global director of innovation and design for Visteon Corporation, based in Van Buren Township, Mich., Tim Yerdon is responsible for tracking and analyzing market trends and voice-of-theconsumer data, and translating it into first-to-market product solutions. He leads a global multifunctional team chartered with the ideation, concept development and commercialization of innovative, market-driven concepts. The team includes program managers, engineers, industrial designers, experience design experts for the human machine interaction and market researchers.

Working with key internal functions, he also oversees the company’s intellectual property portfolio and technical collaborations with various companies, universities, government agencies and other industry partners. These, as well as other initiatives, all drive toward more open collaboration and innovation in the industry.

Yerdon has more than 19 years of automotive experience. Previously he led advanced cockpit electronics, advanced driver awareness systems, the InnovationWorks® organization and the North American marketing team for Visteon. He also held various positions in manufacturing, product development, program management and racing at both Visteon and Ford Motor Co.

Yerdon has a master's degree in manufacturing systems from the University of Michigan, and a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering technology from Penn State University. He is the coinventor on several patents awarded and pending in manufacturing, powertrain, electronics and interiors. He also serves on the board of directors for the automotive electronics division of the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) is a charter member of the OESA (Original Equipment Suppliers Association) Automotive Suppliers Technology Forum and sits on the advisory board of AutoHarvest.org; an open innovation marketplace.

He is responsible for launching and expanding the Car-Net Connected Services features, as well as defining and implementing the long term strategies for future Programs. This includes managing the North American Market requirements for services and content, and identifying future technologies relating to connectivity and the integration of features into the infotainment and navigation platforms.

Prior to taking on this role, Frank was the Technical Strategy Manager for Volkswagen Group of America reporting into the Electronics Research Lab in Palo Alto, CA. There he was responsible for coordinating the Engineering Research activities with Product Strategy, resulting in the application of new technologies for the North American Market. This included Infotainment and Connectivity, Driver Assist Technologies, Powertrain, BEV and Hybrid applications. Fender Premium Branded Audio being one of several success stories from the collective efforts by Product Marketing, Research and Product Engineering.

Throughout his 21 year career, he has spent over 10 years working in Germany for BMW, AAM and SIEMENS AG. Prior to joining Honda, Bai conducted telematics and blue-tooth hands-free system research and development at Nissan Technical Center, Farmington Hills, Michigan. She is currently the Honda technical and management leader on the Crash Avoidance Metrics Partnership (CAMP) Consortium. She has been the CAMP liaison to the SAE DSRC Technical Committee for the Vehicle Safety Communication projects since 2006.

Bai also is the chair-woman of the SAE International DSRC Vehicle Safety Technical Committee and, leading the development of the J2735 and J2945, vehicle-vehicle & vehicle-infrastructure safety related message and data standardization effort. She has a master’s degree in Computer Science from Eastern University; along with master’s degrees in Industrial System Engineering and Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan.

Prior to joining QNX, Mr. Kuhn held senior positions at Alcatel-Lucent, including vice president of emerging technology and media, and vice president of strategy for the Americas region in the office of the CTO/CMO. As a global business lead, he was responsible for the company's ecosystem of emerging technologies, including 4G mobile connectivity.

He also conceived and led the ng Connect Program, a multi-industry initiative dedicated to the development and rapid deployment of next-generation broadband services based on Long Term Evolution (LTE) and other ultra high bandwidth technologies. As such, he drove the development of the original LTE Connected Car, which was launched by the program in 2009 — the most advanced connected car at the time.

Mr. Kuhn sits on the Board of Directors of the Automotive Parts Manufacturers’ Association (APMA).

From 2003 to 2006, Mr. Kuhn served as chairman of the Broadband Content Delivery Forum, where he helped grow the organization to twice its original size. From 2008 to 2010, he sat as a board member of the University of Southern California's Entertainment Technology Center in the School of Cinematic Arts.

In 2010, Mr. Kuhn won Alcatel-Lucent's CEO award.

Chris has been in the forefront of examining the user experience in the mobile and automotive environments, and has over 25 peer-reviewed and invited publications. Chris has over 15 years of experience in human factors research, and holds a M.A. degree in Cognitive Psychology from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.

Chris is a true pioneer of the wireless industry. He joined UIEvolution in 2000, and is recognized as one of the most experienced individuals in the mobile market.
As President and CEO of UIEvolution, Chris is responsible for leading the company's growth, setting global strategy and driving sales and marketing execution. He has grown UIEvolution into a global leader of software solutions to over 100 business customers and major brands such as Disney, Princess Cruises, Toyota, ESPN and ATT. In December 2007, Chris led the successful repurchase of UIEvolution from Square Enix establishing UIE as an independent company with offices in the US and Japan.
Before becoming President and CEO, Chris worked with UIEvolution as VP of Marketing and VP of Finance, Senior Director of Product Management, and Director of Business Development. Prior to joining UIEvolution, Chris was co-founder and CEO of Aptelix Inc, where he was responsible for communicating the company's vision, defining product strategy and raising initial seed funding. Chris graduated with Honors and holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Washington, graduating in the top 5% of the class. He also holds Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance from the University of Montana.

Mr. Link was one of the co-founders of Hughes Telematics (now known as Verizon Telematics) and currently serves as Chief Technology Officer (CTO).  As CTO, Mr. Link is responsible for the OEM vehicle technology and network architecture as well as Verizon Telematics’ technology strategy.

Mr. Link was responsible for creating the architecture for Verizon Telematics’ service rollout for Mercedes-Benz vehicles in North America.  This architecture was the first full implementation of a system that leverages best-in-class service and content providers while maintaining OEM autonomy.  The architecture is designed to support multiple OEMs across several continents with a consistent offering and scalable infrastructure.  Most recently, Mr. Link was responsible for deploying the technical solution in China, replicating the success of the U.S. solution.

Prior to his involvement in the telematics industry, Mr. Link spent 19 years in various engineering roles developing products and services for the U.S. wireless industry, leading to over 55 patents and 30 pending applications. Most notably, Mr. Link developed the wireless message waiting indicator network, serving Bellsouth and Cingular for over 10 years routinely delivering over a billion SMS messages per month. 

Mr. Link currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia with his wife Susan and two children.

Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Hierl was the Vice President for Business Development at SIEMENS AG, Wireless Modules, responsible for the strategy and business development of the Wireless Modules division (one of four divisions of Siemens Mobile) and a member of the management board of the division.

During his six year tenure with SIEMENS, Mr. Hierl worked for SIEMENS Wireless Modules as a manager in several sales and marketing roles. Prior to working with SIEMENS, Mr. Hierl worked 4 years for Rohde & Schwarz as Sales Manager. He is a graduate of Fachhochschule München in Electrical Engineering (Emphasis on Digital Electronics) and in Industrial Engineering.
