At Esurance, she ran the direct mail marketing channel as Database Marketing Manager. Prior to that as Product Manager, she led the firm’s entry into the Oregon market and managed a $60M portfolio for auto insurance operations in the western states representing 10% of the company's annual revenues. She started her career as a Product Analyst at Progressive Insurance.

Shobana holds a Master of Science in Management degree from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business where she was a Sloan Fellow, and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Texas at Austin.

Allen Greenberg has over 20 years of experience in analyzing and advocating for sustainable U.S transportation policy at the national and regional levels from both inside and outside of government. For the last thirteen years, Allen has been employed as a senior policy analyst at the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), where he plays a leadership role with the Value Pricing Pilot Program and the Urban Partnership Program, including soliciting and managing transportation pricing pilot initiatives. 

Prior to joining FHWA, Allen spent two years at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Office of Policy, where he directed the Transportation Partners Program, which provided grants and technical assistance to national not-for-profit organizations promoting local sustainable transportation initiatives. Allen has authored seven peer-reviewed research papers covering a very broad array of issues related to pay-as-you-drive insurance. Allen holds a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor of Science in Public Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University.

Bob has a BSEE from Lawrence Technological University. For over 20 years, Bob has been involved in the design and implementation of embedded electronic powertrain control systems. Bob has a United States Patent for his work in misfire detection systems and has been involved in numerous “first in the world starts” of new vehicle powertrain applications. Bob has also been involved in the development and testing of On Board Diagnostics Systems and publications in the area of OBD Communications techniques.

Bob is currently the OBD Communication Expert for Volkswagen Group of America. His duties include investigation and analysis of OBD issues in the field for Volkswagen group vehicles. His activities also include technical representation for the Volkswagen Group in North America in OBD related matters. He is Vice-Chairman of the SAE E/E Diagnostics Committee and is a constant contributor to its attendant OBD-related Task Forces. He is Vice-Chairman of both the J1962 Vehicle Diagnostic Connector Task Force and J1978 OBDII Scan Tool Task Forces. He is also co-author of the J1699-2 Test Cases for OBD-II Scan Tools and I/M Test Equipment Task Force.

He previously held the positions of Director of Research and Senior Regulatory Specialist with the NAIC prior to his appointment as Director of Regulatory Services. He has been with the NAIC since 1991. In his position Mr. Nordman supports the Property and Casualty Insurance (C) Committee. He provides expertise on loss costs, auto insurance, crop insurance, catastrophe issues, property insurance, workers' compensation, electronic commerce, speed to market, terrorism insurance, medical malpractice, risk retention groups and other regulatory issues.

After studies Paul joined the Insurance industry, working first in Australia and then in the last decade in the United Kingdom. In 2006 Paul was the British Insurance Times Young Insurer of the Year.

Paul is both Australian and English and lives in Hampshire England with his wife and two sons, both of which will have telematics devices installed in their vehicles.

Lee Barclay is Senior Actuary for the Washington state Office of Insurance Commissioner, where he has worked for over 27 years.  He supervises a staff of seven actuaries and actuarial analysts—property/casualty and health—who review insurers’ rate filings and assist with financial examinations of Washington companies.  Lee began his actuarial career in 1978 in the commercial lines actuarial department at Safeco Insurance Companies.  In 1985-86, just before he became a regulator, he was a consulting actuary in Coopers & Lybrand’s Seattle office.

Lee is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.  He also holds the Associate in Risk Management designation.  He is currently Vice Chair of the NAIC Casualty Actuarial and Statistical (C) Task Force, and Chair of the NAIC Commercial Lines (EX) Working Group.

Mr. Hakim has 25 years of mobile data applications experience, including six years working on connected car technologies. Most recently, he launched seven insurance carrier programs, three of which were released to the national market while he was the product manager of an international telematics technology and service provider. Before that, he held leadership roles in the mobile and vehicular infotainment sector and was a research technologist in telecommunications.

Mr. Hakim earned his bachelor of science and master of science degrees in Electrical Engineering from Boston University. He holds three patents in the field of mobile communications.

George Ayres is the Vice President of Global Automotive Solutions for Verizon Telematics, a leader in providing next generation connected solutions. In this role, he oversees all automotive OEM and aftermarket business development.

Prior to Verizon Telematics, Ayres was President and CEO of Greener Speed Marketing, a boutique marketing services company he founded. Previously, he was President and COO of the Skip Barber Racing School, where he created five new racing enthusiast programs. He was also Sales & Marketing Director of Ford’s SVT Performance Group where he launched the Ford Shelby Cobra GT500. Ayres was VP Marketing for Jaguar North America during the largest volume growth the brand has ever had in the US market. Ayres started his career at Ford Motor Company where he held a wide variety of sales and marketing positions.

Ayres holds a Bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University and a MBA from Duke University.
